Livia Lor - Biomedicine Lab

Hello! I’m Livia Lor, a current Clovis High student attending my second year at CART. For my first year at CART, I was in the User Experience Design lab — creating inclusive app designs to make them personal and adaptable to a user. That experience has brought significant light to my creative skills, including: design, color theory, and attention to detail.

This school year, I am in the BioMed lab, learning medical ethics, gaining medical skills, and learning to work in a whole new environment away from designing. We recently finished a medical careers project where we chose what field we wanted to explore and researched it extensively. We then created a website about our fields and created a case study of a fictional character with real symptoms and a diagnosis, using our field of medicine to help treat the patient. The class created a virtual hospital all together to allow every other classmate to explore another's field research to expose us to more medical specialties.

I think this year will be full of information and topics that I only realized I was interested in last year as a User Experience student. I struggled for a bit to find out what I wanted to do with my future and discovering medicine and having a lab like this will broaden my perspective and journey into my possible future. I hope that sharing my experiences have brought more light to CART as it has allowed me to discover more about my likings and my passion for learning.
