CART Receives Clean Storm Water Grant Funding
From Floodline - Summer 2005
This year’s Clean Storm Water Grants have been awarded by the Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District’s Board of Directors. CART was one of twelve recipients whose project was funded this year. Each year the District sets aside $20,000 to assist eligible grant recipients in funding projects which raise public awareness of the importance of storm water quality. Projects can qualify for up to $2,000 each. Different perspectives on storm water quality will be explored, from water quality monitoring to the use of less toxic pesticides to water conservation and supply issues.
The Center for Advanced Research and Technology (CART) was awarded funding for two projects for high school juniors and seniors:
Project 1- Examine Your Watershed
Project 2- Development of a webbased virtual water resources tour in partnership with the Central Valley Water Awareness Committee.
