CART's teachers and business partners have created an exciting,
innovative, and powerful learning environment for junior and senior high school
students. Our students have the opportunity to apply what they have learned to
solve problems faced by our local businesses, industries, and public agencies.
Working in collaborative teams, students gain valuable experience in interpersonal
relationships which provides them with an edge in today's competitive business
workplace.
Through our partnerships with the Fresno and Clovis
Unified School Districts, Fresno County ROP, Fresno Business Council, and the
Economic Development Corporation of Fresno, CART is working to fulfill its mission
of preparing a workforce that can meet the needs of an expanding knowledge based
economy.
CART's career focus labs expose students to the many
occupations that are available within each career cluster. Our business mentors
work directly with students either at CART or through internships at worksites.
Our teachers use project based learning as an instructional
model to deliver an integrated curriculum. All of our classes are approved
by the UC system as college prep. We also have several labs where students
can earn college credit through the CSU Unitrack program.
Over 85% of CART's students choose to continue their career preparation at
four-year colleges and universities, community colleges, and technical schools.
Due to the generosity of local businesses and individuals, 50 scholarships were
provided to seniors in the CART program last year.
We invite you to visit and experience CART's innovative program.
Sincerely,
Susan Fisher
